Jessie Bareis

In Loving Memory

Jessie E. Bareis, age 91, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Sun Prairie Health Care Center.

Jessie was born on April 2, 1923 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Myrtle and John Whipple. She moved to Sun Prairie with her family at a very young age. Jessie was a lifelong resident of Sun Prairie. On October 17, 1942, Jessie married Thomas A. Bareis of Sun Prairie. Together they enjoyed almost 69 years of marriage.

Jessie was an executive secretary at the Sun Prairie School District Office for over 20 years. She was a past member of Eastern Star, member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed Dinner Dance Club, golfing, and traveling. Jessie was a Sun Prairie, Badger, Packer, and Brewers fan. Although she had many interests in her life, her family was the most important, especially her granddaughters.

Jessie is survived by her son Craig ( Karen) of Sun Prairie, and granddaughters; Stephanie Bareis of Reno, NV, Susan Bareis of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister Loras of Stevens Point and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, parents and sister Jean.

A memorial service for Jessie will be held on July 26, 2014 at 11:30am at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie with Pastor Dick Blomker. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made in Jessie's name to the Sun Prairie Education Foundation, Wisconsin Eye Bank, American Cancer Society, or the Craig Bareis family.
