Jerry Jean Richardson Tarr passed away peacefully at home with family March 24, 2025. Jerry was born March 21, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Ralph and Charlotte Richardson. There she graduated from State High School and Kalamazoo College. In 1954 she married Ralph Tarr in Kalamazoo. They lived in Grand Haven, Michigan where their children were born. In 1967 Jerry, Ralph and family moved to Madison, WI.

Jerry loved her family and friends. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church and was elected as an Elder. Jerry’s love of singing in a choir and knitting drew the family to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Madison where she sang with the choir for 40 years. Jerry was also involved in the Presbyterian Women, Knitwits and was the Church Bookkeeper for several years.

Jerry is survived by her sister Caroline Ham: cousins Vail Wright and Luella Swisher: children, Charles Willard (Ann), John Richardson, Mary Charlotte and Donald Robert (Tracey): Grandsons Robb (Wendy), Eric (Kate), Nate (Emily), Matt, and Ben, and Great Grandchildren Aislynn, Coen, Ian, Harper and Taylor: Nephews Clifford (Laura) Ham, Robert (Sebastian) Ham: Nieces Susan (Brent) Martin and Stephanie Lovett. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ralph.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice Care.

A Memorial Service will be held, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 11am with visitation at 10am. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Kalamazoo College, First Presbyterian Church, Kalamazoo or a non-profit of your choosing.
