Jerry Lynn Custis, 86, of Sun Prairie passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg.

Jerry was born in Robinson, Illinois on January 20, 1940, the son of Harold and Juanita Custis. He graduated from Robinson High School and then attended Central Missouri State College and Southern Illinois University. Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1962 until 1966. He was united in marriage to Ruth (Siegenthaler) Custis in July of 1963. Jerry held sales and merchandising positions, most recently at Crossmark Inc.

Jerry was an avid horseshoe player and enjoyed all sports. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and especially his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Ruth Custis; son, Kenneth Custis; granddaughters, Rylee and Maya whom he enjoyed very much; sister, Sue (Larry) Hunsley; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita Custis; and brother, Robert Custis.

A memorial service will take place at 2PM on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Cress Funeral Service, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. A visitation will take place from 12PM until the time of service. Burial at a later date will take place at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
