He also had a small business selling produce, raising chickens, and selling eggs. Nancy would say "He loves the hens almost as much as family". Jerry had a way of making things grow under extreme conditions. A compliment to him was well worth the days work in 90 degree heat. He belonged to the WISM Riders Snowmobile Club and was a snowmobile safety instructor, also a member of the Badger Steam and Gas Club and was still making the fret logo's.
Survivors include his wife Nancy; son Dan; and daughters Ann "Tootsie" Walls (Brian Kirner) and Marie (Kevin) Shearing; one grandson Trevor Maier, and a brother Greg Maier.
