Jerre Ivey
September 22, 1952 - April 16, 2013
Our most beautiful Angel was called home gently and peacefully on Tuesday, April 16th in Madison, WI.
Jerre brought a smile to everyone she met. She is loved for her always positive outlook; her passion and dedication to her family and friends; and for her tremendous personal strength. With all of her heart, Jerre believed in angels. With all of our hearts, we have witnessed an Angel in her life and in her death.
Jerre was born September 22, 1952 in Grand Island, NE. She grew up in Columbus, NE and lived her early adult years in Lincoln, until she and her husband, Carl, settled in Madison, WI. Jerre spoke fondly of her early days in Lincoln as catering manager at Chelsey's working with her friend and mentor, John Schizas. She enjoyed photography and later managed American Heritage Photography Studio in Lincoln before becoming the owner and operator of The Toning Ticket fitness center in Lincoln. Upon relocating to Madison, Jerre became acquainted with the community as a Welcome Wagon representative working with local businesses to help drive their growth and success and later joined the staff at Home Savings Bank in Madison. Jerre gleefully proclaimed her early retirement and for the past 15 years has been a beautiful, devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and center of our lives.
Our Angel is survived by her husband, Carl; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Delpha Riley, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Mary Riley, Michigan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Greg Zinn, Minnesota, and Debbie and Paul Esch, Minnesota; children Billi and Jamie, and grandchildren. Predeceasing her in death are her parents, Melvin Riley and Ione (Key) Riley, Nebraska; and sister-in-law Diane Riley, Nebraska.
Her memory will live with us and brighten our lives forever. We love you, our Angel.
