Jeanne E. Lane

Jeanne E. Lane, age 62, passed away at her home in Madison on Saturday, January 8, 2011.   She was born in Stoughton on December 21, 1948, a daughter of Henry and Helen (Whaley) Stiklestad.   Jeanne graduated from Stoughton High School, and furthered her education at UW Oshkosh.   She worked as an executive assistant for many years at different companies.   She was a member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church in Monona.   she volunteered at her church, and at an elementary school.   Jeanne had a very strong will, surviving a heart defect, several surgeries and cancer.   She was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and baking.   Jeanne is survived by her parents, Henry and Helen Stiklestad; 2 brothers, Michael of Madison and Dale (Susan) Stiklestad of Stoughton; a sister, Susan (Donald) Denner of Stoughton; several nieces and nephews; a great niece and 2 great nephews; and many uncles and aunts.   She was preceded in death by her Life Partner of more than 20 years, Donnie Conners in 2009; and by a sister, Barbara Hubing in 2004.   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 3:30pm at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Shirley Funk officiating.   Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:30pm until the time of service.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
