Madison - Jean Stoltz Salt passed away at her home on Friday, October 19, 2012 in her sleep; peacefully as she wished. Jean was born on April 23, 1925 in Madison Wisconsin; her parents were Benjamin and Priscilla Stoltz. Jean attended West high school and graduated in 1943.
She married Norman J. Salt of Elizabeth, New Jersey on November 5, 1943. Jean was blessed with three children; James N., Susan M. (Salt-Borquist) and Jennifer Salt.
Jean was a volunteer at St. Mary's hospital for 25 years; a bridal consultant at Manchester's for many years, and an active member of the 410 Elks Ladies Auxiliary of Madison. Her great love of dolls drew her into porcelain doll making. She made beautiful dolls and made many family and friends very happy.
Jean was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Stoltz, her mother, Priscilla Siewert, her daughter Susan Salt-Borquist, her son James, and her two wonderful grandmothers; Mrs. Minnie Gannon and Mrs. Jennie L. Bambrough; who Jean often said were just like "mothers" to her.
