Jean Reid

Stoughton - Jean C. Reid, age 68, passed away of natural causes in her home on August 14, 2017. She was born on December 13, 1948 to Carroll and Fay (Holtan) Erickson in Stoughton. Growing up on a dairy farm instilled a lifelong love of animals and nature in her which culminated in many pets including her favorites Deke, Callie and Sam.


Jean graduated from Stoughton High School in 1967 and continued her education at UW-La Crosse. She had a long career at Temperature Systems, Inc where she met many of her closest and dearest friends.


Jean enjoyed playing cards and board games, reading, gambling, crafting and watching sporting events. By far, though, her greatest joy was being with family and friends and knowing they were near.


Jean is survived by an aunt, Donna Hawkinson of Shawano and an uncle Gordon (Ardell) May of Madison. She is further survived by cousins Mary Jo (Dan) Davis, Margie May, Margy May, Marcia (Marc Vaage) May, Mike (Lisa) May, Dean (Jean) Hawkinson, Dan (Judy) Hawkinson, Dave (Sue) Hawkinson, Dale (Lisa Lange) Hawkinson, Patti (Bob) Lind, Vern (Rosie) Schaller and Lynda (Lamar Janes) Schaller. In addition, she is survived by her "nieces" and "nephews" Betsy (Matt) Towns, Mari Davis, Justin Blumenthal and Eddie Blumenthal and several other relatives. She is also survived by a host of friends.


She is preceded in death by her parents; three aunts, Rose Ann Lund, Betty May and Betty Schaller; three uncles, Obert Lund, Oscar Schaller, and Donald Hawkinson; cousin, Heidi Hawkinson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
