Jean Louise Nilsson

MADISON-Jean L. Nilsson, age 81, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Meriter Hospital from complications of heart disease. She was born in Madison on January 11, 1927, and is survived by her husband Ernest L. Nilsson, and her daughter, Sue Nilsson. After graduating from Madison West, Jean married Ernest (Whitey) Nilsson. They were married for 62 years. During that time, they enjoyed rally car racing in their Volkswagen bugs for many years, and visiting the Dells, Door County and Europe often. She worked as a banker, store clerk and finally as a cashier at the UW-Madison bookstore for many years, enjoying her contact with the students. Throughout the years she loved traveling, the theater and music. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org) or The Elephant Sanctuary (www.elephants.com).
