Jean A. Musillami

June 21, 1932 — September 25, 2025

Madison / Stoughton

Jean Adeline Delaney Musillami, 93, passed away on Thursday September 25, 2025, at Nazareth Health in Stoughton.

Jean was born June 21, 1932, to Bernice Anderson Delaney and Archie Delaney in Madison, Wisconsin. She married Frank Musillami, Sr. in 1948 in Rockford, Illinois, and they made their first home in the famous Greenbush section of Madison. There she was embraced by her husband’s Sicilian family and grew to learn great Italian cooking and their love of family. Jean & Frank cared for Frank’s aunt and father in their home, until their deaths.

Jean worked several different jobs during her lifetime, most importantly being mom to six children. If that wasn't work enough, she also did childcare in her home, and helped her husband Frank establish and run his business, Economy Cement, Inc. When her children were grown, Jean worked at H.S. Manchester's, and H.C. Prange Co., before settling in on a career as a Life, Health & Auto sales representative for CUNA Mutual Group, where she retired in 1998. She was frequently one of the top sales representatives and served as a union steward during her career. After “retirement” and following Frank’s passing, Jean took the reins as president of Economy Cement, Inc., a business that served the Madison community for over 50 years.

Jean was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, active in volunteer work throughout her lifetime. She also was a longtime member of the Italian American Women's Club of Madison (IAWC). Her leadership qualities led her to be elected the first non-Italian to serve as president of the IAWC, as well as serving in many other leadership roles. She remained a longtime member of the IAWC as the club was near and dear to her heart. While not born to Italian ancestry, she was "IBM" - Italian by marriage. In her later years, as she gained more free time, Jean was a voracious reader, reading all genres. She was frequently seen with a book and known to finish several books a week!

Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband, Frank Sr, his parents Mae & Gaetano Musillami, her daughter, Mae Sweeney (Thomas), her sister, Geraldine Lutz (John), her sisters- and brothers-in-law, Beatrice & Chester Leach, and Virginia & George DuCharme, and one great grandchild (Gabriel).

Jean is survived by five of her children, John, Frank Jr (Marsha), Debby Hillebrand (Rick), Joseph, and Patrick. In addition to her children, she is survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her brother-in-law, John Lutz, nephews Richard Leach, and David Lutz (Kaozong), and a niece, Nancy (Brant) Showers.

Our family wishes to thank Dr. Kristin Berg, Physician's Assistant Sabrina Weber, Agrace Hospice Nurse, Matthew, the staff at Nazareth Health: Jason, Lydia, Jessica, Sharon, Mariama, Lori, Presley, Ella, Brianna, Ali, Khadijatou, Jeff, and Walt, for your kind, compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 7, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1905 W. Beltline Hwy, Madison, WI 53713 with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass.
