Meloy, Jean

MADISON - Jean Meloy died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Rest Haven Health Care Center with her daughter, Donna and granddaughter, Shana at her side.
Jean was born February 2, 1918 in Price County Wisconsin to Dan and Mabel Nusbaum. She was the fourth of eight children. Jean attended the University of Wisconsin and became a registered nurse. While working at the Gisholt Machine Company during World War II she met the love of her life, Don Meloy, who was then working nights while attending Law School. They married on September 28, 1942 and had three children. She is survived by her children, Donna Meloy of Lafayette, Indiana, Mark (Judy) Meloy of Deforest, and Gary (Mary) Meloy of Marshall. She was blessed with seven grandchildren; Brian Berger (Leah Johnston), Shana Berger (Nathan Purath), Amy (Scott) Baillies, Jason Meloy, Pat (Tia) Meloy, Colleen Meloy (Kevin Pomarnke), and Mike (Mandy) Meloy. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, her sister Kate (Gene) Bradfield, brother-in-law Leo Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews who truly loved "Aunt Jeanie." After Don's death in April 1983 she continued to enjoy life, particularly the annual trips to Florida with her extended family, the Nusbaums. She was a wonderful, caring person.
Pursuant to her wishes she was quickly and unceremoniously laid to rest next to her husband, Don, at Roselawn Cemetery. For online condolences visit www.CressFuneral Service.com
