Jean Herrmann

Madison - Jean M. Herrmann, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 31, 2015 surrounded by her family, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1930 to Grace and Roy Robertson, in Ashland, WI.

Jean was united in marriage to her college sweetheart Donald Herrmann on June 10, 1953. After graduating from UW - Stevens Point she started her teaching career where
she improved the lives of students for 31 years as a kindergarten teacher. Her passion for teaching went outside the classroom, as she was also very active in the Wisconsin Education Association Council.

Family was central to Jean, and she loved to spend time with them all. She spent countless hours with her grandchildren, watching and helping them grow, and was a dedicated friend to many. She was an avid reader, a talented artist, a skilled bridge player, and a gourmet cook.

Jean is survived by her husband; her children, Scott (Mary) Herrmann, Sherri (Len) Pilon and Susan (Scott) Mindock; her grandchildren, Jessica (Mike Holden) and Zachary Herrmann, Matthew and Mitchell Pilon, Abigail and Max Mindock; her great-grandchildren, Bennett and Lucas Herrmann-Holden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Cress.
