Jean Enge

Jean Elizabeth Enge, age 76, of Waunakee passed away on December 16, 2013 at Homestead Living. Jean was born on February 24, 1937 to John and Philomene (Miller) Heinz of Waunakee where she lived her entire life. She married Nathan Enge on December 9, 1954 and he preceded her in death in February 2013. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church and a member of Legion Post 360 Auxiliary. Jean was St. John's Parish business administrator for 29 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she worked at the Waunakee Tribune for many years and also at the Triangle Restaurant.
One of Jean's favorite tasks for St. John's Parish was decorating the church at Christmas and Easter. She taught floral arrangement classes and decorating the church gave her enormous pleasure and pride.
Jean loved her grandchildren and showed her love in many ways, such as, sewing a first communion dress or an American Girl outfit, attending a concert, recital or game, cooking a Thanksgiving dinner, showering them with Christmas gifts or smothering them with a hug.
Jean is survived by her four sons, Randal (Jennifer), Terry (Joan), David (Kathy), and John (Amy); proud grandmother to Sarah (Craig), Jaden, Easton, Shayla (Ryan), Hailey, Payton, Iden, Riley, Brady, and Reese; three sisters, Alice (Wally) Pulvermacher, her twin sister Jan (Connie) Pulvermacher- Ryan, Joan (Leo) Wipperfurth; sister-in-law Phyllis Heinz, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Nathan; her sister Marion; and her brother William.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Dec. 21, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee. Msgr. James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call on Friday, Dec 20, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee, where a Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Sat. from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
