Stoughton - Jean M. DiCristina, age 89, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on March 5, 1927 in the Greenbush of Madison, Wisc, the daughter of John and Catherine (Spatola) DiCristina.
Jean had fond memories of growing up in the Greenbush neighborhood and was very proud of her Italian heritage. She attended St. Joseph grade school and graduated from Edgewood High School. After some college, she started her working career in the banking industry. Early in her life she moved to California where she continued to work and live for almost 40 years. Even in retirement she found ways to stay busy and would volunteer 3 days a week helping those in need. Jean was and is an inspiration to the younger women in her family by her independence and her strong work ethic. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brothers John (Jane) DiCristina and Frank (Nancy) DiCristina; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rose (Carl) Maglio; and brother, Joseph DiCristina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, with Father Randy Budnar presiding. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends are invited to a meal in the church fellowship hall following services. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital. They would also like to thank Dr. Flanagan, Care Wisconsin, St. Ann's Parish, and her close friends that provided her comfort and care.
