Jane Skalitzky

Sun Prairie - Jane Margaret Skalitzky, age 68, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 way too soon but is now with our Lord. She was born to Wilfred and Verena Grosse on July 9, 1947 and raised on a farm near Sun Prairie. She met the love of her life, Joseph Skalitzky, and they were married on November 25, 1967 at Sacred Hearts Church in Sun Prairie. She was a tremendous person who impacted so many people as an educator, volunteer, and friend. Jane was a generous and caring person who always put others' needs before her own. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to have fun and at times act much younger than her age. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Skalitzky; her children, Sara (Jay) Hausser and Matt Skalitzky; grandchildren, Makenna, Justin and Jadyn Hausser; sisters, Luana (Rod) Schneider, Ruth (Robert) Russell, Mary Ann Grosse, Nancy (Scott) Lange, Joan Grosse (George Dahir); brother, Robert Grosse (Daiva Caplenas); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Alice Grosse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Drive, Sun Prairie on Friday, September 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Terrence Connors presiding. Private burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be forwarded to Badger Camp (for adults with handicaps), and Special Olympics.
