Jane Cronkrite

Sun Prairie - Jane A. Cronkrite, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Oak Park Skilled Nursing in Madison. She was born on September 22, 1936 in Stitzer, Wisconsin, the daughter of Dallas and Henrietta (Witzig) Smith. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Cronkrite on December 30, 1955 in Ironwood, Michigan. While Bill was in the Navy they spent time living in Cuba and Washington D.C. and finally moving to Sun Prairie. Jane worked for Wisconsin Cheeseman in Sun Prairie as a seasonal worker for over 25 years. She loved to garden and quilt.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Cronkrite; her son, Brian (Catherine) Cronkrite; daughters, Karen (Joe) Fonti and Susan (Steve) Allen; grandchildren, Brandon Cronkrite, Jason (Elizabeth) Cronkrite, Aaron (fianc�e Courtney) Cronkrite, Katie Fonti, Kristine Fonti, Nick Fonti, Ian Allen and Megan Allen; great granddaughter, Lillian Cronkrite; brother, Cecil (Bernadine) Smith; sister-in-law, Sharon Cronkrite; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.
