James Sommers

Layfaette, IN - James L. "Jim" Sommers, age 50, died peacefully on November 18, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness with an aggressive respiratory disease. He was born on January 10, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Alvin and Ronna (Smith) Sommers.

Our friend had a love for a good party, the outdoors, playing euchre, cooking, four wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and the Packers. What he treasured most was sharing these things with his boys. He loved his boys so much, spending time with them was his priority.

Jim is survived by his sons, Lance and Spencer; a sister, Deb (Steve) Crocker, Memphis, TN; brother, Chris Sommers, Edgerton, WI; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Douglas Dushack presiding. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a procession to the church for Mass at 11:00 a.m.
