James (Peewee) Edward Lynch died at the Wm S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Madison, Wisconsin after a valiant battle with multiple illnesses. He was 62.
James was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 26, 1955 to Marian and Warren Lynch. He graduated from North Division High School in 1975 after which he enlisted in the United States Army. After basic training and further schooling, James became an Army nurse and worked in that capacity until his retirement. His early Army deployment sent him to Panama where he would meet his future wife, Judith Street. After his time in Panama, James, along with wife Judy and son Terrence, were sent to Ft. Dix, NJ where they lived for several years. James relocated to Madison in the early 2000's.
After moving to Madison, James joined the Fountain of Life Church. The Church became a central part of his life and he often talked about how he was drawn by the sense of fellowship and love he felt. His increasing illness limited his ability to actively participate in church functions as he had in the past and had loved to do. He found this one of the most distressing aspects of his failing health. James loved to cook and often participated in church functions that allowed him to exercise his passion. He was very proud of the fact that his participation in the local Men Who Cook competition had garnered him the 1st Place trophy for best dessert.
James is survived by his wife and son, Judith and Terrence Street of Pemberton, NJ, grandchildren Brianna and Terrence, Jr., niece Michelle, brother Gregory and a host of cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Helen Sample, his parents Marian and Warren Lynch, his sister Victoria and his nephew Christopher.
James was cremated at Cress Cremation Services on March 9, 2018. A memorial will take place on June 2, 2018 at the Fountain of Life Church, 633 W. Badger Rd., Madison, WI. with a gathering at 10 am and services beginning at 11 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James' life.
