Sun Prairie - James Burnell Krauser, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on January 29, 2015. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 14, 1940, the son of John and Marge (Schomaker) Krauser. A hero to all, Jim selflessly devoted his life to family. His kindness to all knew no end. Having a strong faith, Camp Awana was a place that was very dear to Jim, and where he learned how to trust in our Lord. He was very proud of his service in the Armed Forces, where he was honorably discharged. He was always very enthusiastic about his accomplishments as a basketball champ at Elmwood Park High School, at one point rated as the Tigers' strongest defensive player.....#12. Words cannot describe the truly amazing and generous man that Jim was, and how missed that he will be by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Dona; mother, Margaret, sister, Jeanne, brother, Rick; children, Michael, Jim, Dan, Jennifer, Susie and Amanda; and step-children, Lee and Rich; and his grandchildren, Kevin, Jillian, Johnathon, Ashley, Lauren, Karlee, Rory, Luke, Bradley, Adam and Jessica; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Joshua, Ross, Zach and Jaid.
A funeral service will be held at LIVING WATER CHURCH, 3075 Prospect Drive, Sun Prairie, on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jon Gerdts officiating. Burial will follow at South Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In honor of Jim's memory, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Camp Awana. Donations can be made by going to:
