James K Birkrem

James Kevin Birkrem, 61, of Deerfield, WI passed away on July 6th, 2023 at St Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on March 13th, 1962 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of Clair and Dollie (Rathburn) Birkrem.

He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980. He worked with his family on their dairy farm until 1992. He loved working in the shop repairing tractors, trucks, cars, and anything with an engine, He was always there to lend a helping hand anyway he could for anyone. Jim opened his own shop at the home farm repairing the local communities vehicles, farm equipment, and heavy truck fleets, he specialized in air conditioning. He enjoyed going on tractor rides with his 1950 John Deere Model B or Ford 9N’s and traveling to Florida to visit friends and annual tractor shows. He knew all the best supper clubs and restaurants around Wisconsin, and would share these recommendations with friends and family over dinner. 

Jim was survived by his children, Nathin and Stephanie; his siblings, Mark, Charles (Karla), Bryan (Diana), Signe (Wayne Melton); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; Clair and Dollie Birkrem.

A celebration of life will be held at Nora’s 1843 US-12, Deerfield, WI 53531 on July 22nd, 2023 from 2-6PM.
