In remembrance of Jacob D. Wasek, the "Barista Philosopher." Born January 4th, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. Jacob passed away Tuesday, March 6th, 2018. He was 30 years old. Having lost his long, hard battle with mental illness and addiction, he is survived and lovingly remembered by: his mother, Elizabeth Benn; his father, Jason Wasek; step-mother, Jen Wasek; siblings Portia Adney, Madeleine Wasek, Lillian Wasek, Noah Wasek, Elaina Wasek; brother-in-law Daniel Ahiakpor; and nephew Aston Ahiakpor. He was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jacob (Jake) will forever be remembered for his charm, hilarious antics and personality; his AMAZING hair, captivating turquoise blue eyes and dashing good looks; his tender, sensitive nature and deep brooding; his love of music, film, literature, poetry and philosophy; his love of travel and his taste in fine, fashionable menswear; and most of all his incredible, unwavering imagination! He will also be remembered for his love of great coffee, good food and friends, family togetherness, raiding mom's fridge and raiding his sister's book collection, and taking the wrong subway train to Dekalb Ave in Brooklyn (and spending the night in Central Park). Jake has left a long and lasting impression on everyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting him. He had the innate ability to captivate the hearts and minds of those around him, and utterly frustrate his mom and sisters (lol). Whether a person met him only once or knew him throughout the years, he is unforgettable. Jake was a true Lost Boy, a Peter Pan who was ready for his next grand adventure. "All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust."
