Madison - Ivan LaRue, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from heart failure. He was born on May 31, 1927 in Ironton, WI, the son of Marie and Clarence LaRue. Ivan was united in marriage with Jean Wildes on February 12, 1949. They owned and operated Seminary Springs Tavern for 40 over years. Ivan was a very fun loving, caring man and will be dearly missed by many.
Ivan is survived by his son, Gary (Jan) LaRue; a grandson, Eric LaRue; a step grandson Jeff Crowell; sisters Avis Blakeslee and Alice Scott; sister-in-laws Sylvia Dempsey, Seely LaRue; brother-in-law Norman Wildes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean; three brothers, Robert, Maurice and Jim; two sisters, Angela Gibeaut and Madelyn McFarland
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Avenue, on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Madison. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Ivan would have said, "It's been a slice of heaven "Sweet Pea"!
