Isabelle Peterson

H. Isabelle Peterson, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 03, 2010 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton.   She was born in Sarasota Florida on January 9, 1927, a daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Overn) Wene.   Isabelle graduated from Stoughton High School and was the valedictorian of her class.   On September 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Herbert Peterson.   Isabelle loved her work as registrar at the UW Madison Medical School, where she was adored by the students and where a room and a scholarship were dedicated in her name.   From 1967 to 1999, she also worked with Herb, managing the business side of Peterson's Service Station in Stoughton.   Isabelle was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was a role model to them all.   She is survived by 3 children, Jim (Chris) Peterson, Christine (Michael) Dunn, and Karen (Paul) Moss; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, JoAnn Lynch and Georgia (James) DeBolt.   She was preceded in death by her husband Herb in 2004.   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, with the Rev. James Koza officiating.   Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at Skaalen Chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the H. Isabelle Peterson Healthcare Education Scholarship Fund, in care of the family.   Special thanks to the staff of Friendship Circle at Skaalen Home.
