Irving "Bud" C. Collins Jr., age 96, passed away on April 2, 2014 at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 24, 1917 in Stoughton, WI, the son of Irving and Emma (Quam) Collins. He married Mary C. Strong on April 15, 1942 at her grandmother's home in Dodgeville.
Irving graduate from Stoughton High School and attended a couple years of College. After school he worked for Wisconsin Power and Light for over 40 years as a draftsman. He enjoyed growing up on the lake doing boating and sailing. Later in life Mary and Irving enjoyed antiquing together as a hobby. He also enjoyed doing many house hold construction projects.
Irving is survived by his loving daughter Catherine (Richard) Durnford of Dodgeville; granddaughters Amy Crubaugh-Schrank of Mt. Horeb, and Michelle (Ryan) Rewey of Janesville; great grandchildren Tyler Crubaugh, Olivia Schrank, Lauren, Ava, and Elise Rewey. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Mary Beth Strong of Stoughton; a special niece SueAnn LePage of Grants Pass, OR., friend - Fred Waldburger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, sister and brother in-law Kay and Carl Felly, and brother-in-law Kirk Strong.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at the Nazareth House Chapel, 814 Jackson St, Stoughton, WI; with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. A burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery follow the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Nazareth Health and Rehab especially the Nurses and CNA's on the 1st floor for their wonderful care and friendship. The family would also like to thank Agrace Hospice for their Care and Support. And a special thank you to Fred Waldburger and Gary Holloway for their friendship towards Bud over many years. Irving will be deeply missed by his family.
