What a woman. What a mom. What a friend.

Ina Rose Ogush Smolker was born on June 2, 1939, and passed away on January 14, 2026. She was really cool and full of laughter and love.

She was a proud graduate of Bronx High School of Science and Boston University. Throughout her life she gave her time and energy generously to the community. She served for over 15 years as the Assistant Auction Manager for Wisconsin Public Television, where her enthusiasm and commitment helped support public broadcasting. She also served as President of the Temple Beth El Sisterhood and was a perennial volunteer for community efforts, including Food-a-Rama.

A trophy-winning athlete, Ina excelled at golf, bowling, and tennis. She had a sharp mind and a love for challenges, completing The New York Times crossword and other daily puzzles in pen.

Simply put, she was a hell of a woman, and (according to her favorite mug), she was a “little f’ing ray of sunshine.” A thoughtful friend, devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandma and great-grandma, her mere presence lit up the room – and she just made people happy.

Ina is eternally loved by her husband of 64 years, Teddy (her guy), who affectionately called her Ina Rose and Os. She will always be loved by her family: Leslie, Dan, Ellen, Andres, Louis, Tyne, Sam, Alysse, Oliver, Alejandro, Chloe, and Shaffer. Indeed, “We love you 4, and that’s a lot.”

Private services will be held for the family. A Celebration of Ina’s Life will be hosted on 6 June 2026 from 1:00-4:00 at the Capital Brewery (7734 Terrace Ave, Middleton). Toasts to Ina will start at 2:00. In lieu of flowers the family would like to support Agrace Hospice who has brought so many families comfort and peace.
