Ilene Freidel

Sun Prairie - Ilene Grace Freidel, age 82, passed away on June 2, 2013 while at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg.

Ilene was born on January 17, 1931 in Madison, WI the daughter of Gordon and Inger (Teisberg) Johnson. She married her husband, Donald W. Freidel on April 23, 1948.

Ilene is survived by 3 of her children, Deb (Bob) Whelan of Poynette, William (Monika) Freidel of South Beloit and Tom (Joan) Freidel of Wisconsin Rapids; 9 grandchildren, Tobie (John) Langhans, Beau Whelan, James (Melissa) Young, Hanns (Hillary) Freidel, Kristopher Freidel, Scott Freidel, Leah Freidel, Janelle (Dan) Cashmore and Michael Freidel and 7 great grandchildren.

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don in 2009 and two children, Mary Anne Freidel at birth in 1958 and her twin brother, Joseph Freidel in 2011.

Ilene's greatest joy was in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother! She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living and Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care they extended to Ilene.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Fr. John Silva will celebrate. Visitation will precede service beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will conclude at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
