Ida Lengfeld

Madison- Ida Jean Lengfeld, age 84, died on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Ida Jean was born February 6, 1931 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Lucia Carollo. She married Fred Edward Lengfeld in August of 1956 and they were married for 53 years.

She received her undergraduate degree in social work at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She began her career at the Wisconsin School for Girls. Ida Jean was honored for 50 years of membership in Delta Zeta Sorority. She was also recognized being on the Board of Directors for The University League--UW Madison. Ida Jean enjoyed working in her flower gardens, playing bridge, watching the Packers, attending Badger football games, traveling, baking her homemade bread, crafting, and decorating her home. She enjoyed her time hiking on her property in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Above all else, family was her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Candance (Robert) of Nashotah, Pam (Augie Sr.) of Baraboo; sons Jay (Gina) of Cross Plains, and Barry of Madison; grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley (Chad), John (Megan), Luke, Erich, and Ethan; Teala and Tylur; Augie Jr., Kathryn, Emma (Matthew); Kim Hocking (mother of Teala and Tylur); and great-grandson, Beau.

Ida Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lengfeld.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 2121 Rowley Ave., Madison, WI, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 with Father Simon-Felix Michalski, O.P. presiding. Burial and a luncheon will follow the mass.
