Middleton - I. Lenora Rodes, age 49, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. She was born on August 16, 1964 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thomas H. Rodes and Ruby "Penny" Ziemer. In 1982, Lenora graduated from Sun Prairie High School, later on attending the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Lenora obtained her advanced medical coding degree from Madison Area Technical College. She thoroughly enjoyed her job at SVA Healthcare Services as a medical coding specialist. In her younger years, Lenora loved to swim, swimming competitively through college at UWRF. Not only was she an avid Packer fan but she enjoyed the fact that she was a part "owner" of the team. She also had a love for animals especially her two new kittens Kallie and Padi and had dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Lenora truly enjoyed driving her Honda CRZ around the back roads of Madison. Lenora is survived by her mother, Ruby "Penny" DeMott of Sun Prairie; her brother, Rich Rodes of Chicago, Il; an aunt, Lois Lance of Modesto, CA and an uncle, Harvey (Jean) Ziemer of Watertown, WI. She is also survived by many cousins. Lenora was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hutson Rodes; her step father, Robert W. DeMott, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:00pm with Pastor Amanda Stein officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lenora to the Dane County Humane Society,5132 Voges Rd, Madison, WI 53718.
