Hugo Indra, age 95, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Oregon Manor Nursing Home in Oregon, Wisconsin. Â He was born on April 2, 1915 in Watertown, to Henry and Magdalen (Koester) Indra. Â Hugo attended barber college in Milwaukee, completed his apprenticeship in New London, and returned to Watertown to meet the love of his life. Â Hugo married his hometown sweetheart Lucy and then moved to Madison. Â He barbered on the Capital Square for 10 years before opening his own shop on the West Side of Madison in 1955. Â He loved barbering so much; he opened and additional part-time shop in McFarland working several nights a week. Â His loyalty to customers even included making house calls. Â He retired at the age of 92 years, ending an astonishing career of 68 years. Â Hugo was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Â He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Â He enjoyed the KC bowling league serving as secretary for over 30 years. Â He is survived by his sister Lucille Trachte; his brother Paul; his four children, Gloria Hanson, Diane (Richard) Thornton, Marla (Larry) Carreon, and Tim (Kathy) Indra; ten grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Â Hugo was preceded in death by his wife Lucy of 64 years; his brother Frances; and two sisters, Loretta Richter and Virginia Ganser. Â A visitation will be held from 4 until 7pm on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison. Â A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Own Dr., with visitation from 10 am until the time of Mass at the church. Â Our family would like to thank the staff of Oregon Manor Nursing Home for their loving care of our father. Â
