Howard Weisensel

Marshall - Howard L. Weisensel, age 61, passed away peacefully while in his sleep on January 9, 2013 at his home.

Howard was born on December 22, 1951 in Columbus, WI the son of Harland and Arlene Weisensel. He married Martha Kay Skalitzky on September 1, 1972 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. Howard and Kay both members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bristol for over 35 years.

Howard worked at Langer Motors, Renk Seed Company and over the past 20 years at American Packaging Corporation in Columbus.

Howard enjoyed crop farming, helping his son and grandchildren show dairy cattle, snowmobiling and snowmobile racing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Howard was fond of John Deere tractors, Yamaha snowmobiles, Chevy trucks and all sports.

Howard is survived by his wife, Kay Weisensel; two sons, Bill (Tricia) and Scott (Lindsay) Weisensel; 5 grandchildren, Emma, Whitney, Hailey, Lauryn and Lukas; his parents, Harland and Arlene Weisensel; four siblings, Roger (Becky) Weisensel, Greg Weisensel, Veronica (Frank) Jesberger and Ray (Kathy) Weisensel; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family in Howard's memory, where they will be distributed to his favorite charities.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1935 County Highway V, Sun Prairie on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Rob Butz will celebrate. A visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will conclude at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
