Howard Scharfman

MADISON - Howard Scharfman, age 90, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at Oakwood Village West. Howard was born December 27, 1924 in New York, NY to Samuel and Frances Scharfman. He was a graduate of the City College of New York, and earned his doctorate at John Hopkins University. Howard served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. For 37 years he worked for and started several businesses in the Raytheon Company for 37 years.
In June of 1971 Howard married Esther T. Wiedman. He is survived by his wife, Esther Scharfman of Lexington, MA; his children, Paul Scharfman of Madison, WI, and Helen Scharfman of New York, NY. Howard is preceded in death by his first wife, Lotte, and his son, Daniel.
Howard loved spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies included skiing, sailing, fishing, and tennis.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Howard's life will be held Wednesday, July 15 2015, at 3 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, WI with Rabbi Jonathan Biatch presiding. Interment will be held Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2015 at Westview Cemetery, Lexington, MA.
