Howard Endres

Howard A. Endres, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2014 at UW Hospital. Family was at his side. Howard was born September 4, 1925 to William and Dorothy (Post) Endres. Howard was a lifelong resident of Madison. He was united in marriage to Mary A. Dunning on June 14, 1952. Howard attended St. James grade school, graduated from West High School and the University of Wisconsin. Howard answered the call for WWII. He was in the Europe and the Pacific theatres. He then joined the Wisconsin National Air Guard until he retired. Howard was a member of the IBEW and was an electrician for many Madison companies until his retirement. In retirement, he volunteered many hours for Oscar Mayer READI program.

Howard is survived by his daughter Merle Annette ( Joseph) Boehnen of Mount Horeb; grandsons Anthony " Tony" Boehnen of Waunakee, Kyle Boehnen of Waukesha, Timothy ( Heidi) Boehnen of Chippewa Falls; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Joy, Levi, Solomon and Eden in Chippewa falls; sister Kay Kraft of South Carolina; sister in law Marge Endres of Oregon; step brother-in-law Oscar ( Jean) Johnson of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; parents William and Dorothy ( Post) Endres; in laws Merle C. Dunning; Thelma ( Clements) Dunning Johnson and Albert Johnson; brothers William, Greg and Harold Endres;sister Joan Howe; brother in laws Howard Howe and Don Kraft; sister in laws Catherine, Elizabeth and Joyce Endres; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue in Madison on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00a.m. with Reverend Buck Firth officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, January 2, 2015 and from 9:00am until time of service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens will full military honors.
