Hisashi Miyazaki

January 15, 1930 — October 24, 2012

Hisashi Miyazaki passed away peacefully at age 82 on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was born in Noda City, Chiba, Japan on January 15, 1930. After receiving his BS from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan, he began his career at Topy Corporation in Japan. He served as the president of Topy International, president of NHK International in the U.S., and later as the JETRO senior trade advisor for the state of Wisconsin. He worked tirelessly and enthusiastically in all his positions, bringing together the people of Japan and the United States.
In his later years, he enjoyed his activities on the board of Wisconsin Chiba Inc, working in his garden, listening to classical music, and visiting his grandchildren. He became an avid sports fan, spending many hours watching basketball and his favorite baseball and soccer teams.
The Miyazaki family extends a special thanks to the staff at Meriter Hospital, UW Carbone Cancer Center, and Gilda's Club Madison for their compassionate care.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fumiko, and his children, Kimiko, Masako, and Mike, as well as his 8 grandchildren and his sister, Hideko. He is preceded in death by his parents, Toshikuni and Kiku, and his brother, Yoshiaki.
A Memorial Service will be held at Blackhawk Church, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Gilda's Club Madison, 7907 UW Health Court, Middleton, WI, 53562.
