Hermice Anders

Madison- Hermice D. Anders (nee Daniell), age 88 died with her loving daughters at her side on December 14, 2014 in Madison, WI. Born on March 5, 1926 in Marietta, GA, she is the daughter of Silas and Louise (Dyson) Daniell. Hermice is a graduate of Georgia College majoring in Retailing. Her first career was as a buyer for Rich's Department store in Atlanta GA. She was united in marriage to Larry B. Anders on March 19, 1949. They had two daughters, Ginger and Crystel and lived in many places before settling in Libertyville, IL. Hermice had a deep value for democracy and was an active member of the League of Women Voters for over 65 years. She also had a great appreciation for art and nature and was an avid volunteer in many organizations. She was a fabulous southern cook, gracious host, shared her love of reading with her children, had an amazing green thumb, and was an active, committed member of her First Presbyterian Church (Libertyville, IL) and Convenant Presbyterian Church (Madison, WI).

After raising two daughters she began working at A.S. Hansen as an actuarial. Although she retired from A.S. Hansen at the age of 60 she continued to work at various jobs into her late 70's.

Hermice is survived by: her daughters, Ginger (Kurt) Buehner, Elkhorn WI; Crystel (Jay Solwold) Anders, Madison WI; granddaughter Amy (Greg) Kazda, Madison WI; grandson Kyle Buehner, Oakcreek, WI; great granddaughter Brooklyn Kazda, Madison, WI; sister Barbara Knight, Marietta, GA; her former husband Larry B. Anders, Henderson NV, and nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was proceeded in death by: her parents and brother-in-law Bill Knight Jr.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church on January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at 10am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the League of Women Voters of WI, Agrace Hospice or Covenant Presbyterian Church.
