Stoughton- Herman E. Zeichert, age 69, passed away at Nazareth House in Stoughton on Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born in New London, WI on January 27, 1943, a son of William and Louisa (Falk) Zeichert. Herman worked as a Police Officer, Detective and Investigator for the Shorewood Hills, Town of Madison and City of Madison Police Departments. Following that, he worked at First Wisconsin National Bank and CUNA Inc. in Loss Prevention Administration. Herman co-founded the Financial Crimes Investigators Association in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service. He was the 3rd civilian ever to be awarded for services rendered to the F.B.I. Herman is survived by 2 sons, Todd M. Zeichert and Timothy A. (Tracy) Zeichert; 7 grandchildren, Wilhelm, Zachery, Edward, Zethren, Tiffany, Zerek, and Zayne; a brother, Otto; and a sister, Edna Bartel. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Louisa; and a brother, William. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Per Herman's request, no funeral services will be held. Special thanks to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare and Nazareth House for their care and compassion.
