Dane/Madison - Herman Joseph Greiber age 89, died on Thurs. Sept. 13, 2012 at All Saints Assisted Living & Memory Care in Madison. He was born on Aug. 30, 1923 in Springfield Corners to Arthur and Christina (Endres) Greiber. He married Genevieve Karls of Waunakee on May 3, 1949. He farmed all of his life in the Dane area. Herman enjoyed many hobbies including; painting, gardening, woodcarving, playing cards, fishing, watching baseball, and being with family. He was a lifelong member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Martinsville.
Survivors include his wife Genevieve; four daughters, Ann (Greg) Wagner, Susan (Dale) Clemens, Mary (Dwight) Krampien, Kris Greiber; three sons, Kenneth (Carla) Greiber, Vernon (Joni) Greiber, and James (Jean) Greiber; sixteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Odelia Karls; two brothers Ray (Betty) Greiber and Charles (Marcy) Greiber; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters Verena Hellenbrand and Delphine Klein; and three brothers Leo, Donald, and Harold; brothers-in-law Leander Hellenbrand, Francis Klein and Tom Karls; sister-in-law Josephine Greiber and a granddaughter Courtney Clemens.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church, 5959 St. Martin Circle, Cross Plains. Rev. Brian Dulli will officiate. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q., Waunakee on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
