Helene Hofmann

Obituary for Helene Fasser Hofmann, a renowned restaurateur and yodeler, who passed away at the age of 100. She grew up speaking 4 languages and one was Romantsch which is a very rare language. Born in Trun, Canton of Graubuenden, Switzerland, she is survived by 4 children Elisabeth (husband Heinz) Rippstein, Hans Hofmann, Doris Voeck and Karl Hofmann Jr., 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Helene and her husband Karl owned and operated several restaurants in Wisconsin, including the Alpine Cafe and Hofmann's Wilhelm Tell, before opening the Chalet St. Moritz in Middleton. She was known for her yodeling skills, which she showcased alongside Rudy Burkhalter. After retiring and moving to California, she later returned to Wisconsin. Helene loved to travel and organized tours of Europe for her friends and patrons.
