Helen Schwarm

May 2, 1937 — February 6, 2015

Helen Ann Langer Schwarm, 77, of Savannah, Georgia and Madison, passed away on February 6, 2015 at University of Wisconsin Hospital, after struggling with many difficult medical conditions. She was born on May 2, 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin and was raised in Baraboo. She was the daughter of Harold and Katherine (Hickey) Langer.

Helen graduated from the University of Wisconsin and became a teacher at Hoyt Elementary. On June 30, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jay G. Schwarm. For most of her life, she was an avid and successful golfer. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting and cooking. Her true love and passion was being a wife and mother and she will be most remembered for her dedication to and love of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Jim) Pope of Stoughton, and Kathryn Marian Schwarm of Washington DC, and two grandchildren, Trevor and Julia Pope . She lost her beloved husband, Jay, just four months ago in September, 2014. She is further survived by special nieces and nephews, Sue Robers (SanDiego, CA), Andy Bush (Boulder CO), Scott Bush (Madison) and Julie Metcalfe (Madison) as well as Kate Stanley, Lisa Stanley, Ellen Dobies, John Stanley, Susan Ahn, and Megan Richardson.

There will be a burial service at a later date in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Helen's love touched many people and she will be greatly missed.
