Helen Murphy

Madison - Helen L. Murphy passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, with her family by her side. Helen was born on December 13, 1941, in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Meredith Meyer. She worked in retail sales for many years at K-mart, Woodmans, and Kohls. She enjoyed Badger Hockey, gardening, auto racing, visiting zoo's, all things Disney, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her five children, Greg Holmquest (Tracy), Steve Holmquest (Jill), Micki Meyer (Randy), Gary Holmquest and Brenda Holmquest and 14 grandchildren, Brandon Holmquest, David Meyer (Nikki), Broc Holmquest, Julia Meyer, Dana Meyer, Patrick Richgels, Ryan Kalbfleisch, Emily Holmquest, Ashley Armstrong, Cody Holmquest, James Holmquest, Becky Holmquest, Chris Holmquest, Joe Holmquest ; two great-grandchildren Kaylee and Lucille; a sister, Cookie Meyer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Murph, a brother, Donald, and grandson, Garrick Holmquest.

A celebration of life will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to Henry Vilas Zoo.
