Helen Jennings

McFarland- Helen C. Jennings, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Skaalen Nursing & Rehabilitation in Stoughton. She was born in Janesville on December 24, 1920, the daughter of George and Catherine Porter. On July 4, 1942 Helen married Harold Jennings. Together they lived in Janesville until 1958 when they moved to Madison. She has resided in McFarland since 1969. Helen worked for the State of WI for 20 years and retired in 1983 as an Audit Specialist with the Department of Revenue. She enjoyed quilting and travelling the world. Helen was a dedicated member of McFarland United Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Harold; four children, JoAnn (Bill) Binger, Sue (Roger) Richards, Georgia (Bob) Buehler and Hal (Judy) Jennings; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Anderson; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and dear friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Porter; and sister, Catherine Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 17, 2014 at McFarland United Church of Christ, 5710 Anthony Street, McFarland, with Rev. Kerri Parker officiating. Burial will take place in Milton Lawn Memorial Park in Janesville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at church, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service Monday at church. Memorials may be made to the church, or to Agrace HospiceCare Inc. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Skaalen and Agrace HospiceCare.
