Helen Buechner

September 14, 1944 — March 1, 2017

Martinsville - Helen A. Buechner, age 72, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Badger Prairie Health Care Center in Verona. She was born Sept. 14, 1944, the daughter of the late George and Rosalia (Ziegler) Buechner. During her childhood on the family farm, Helen had a special fondness for the kittens and playing outdoors with her siblings. After graduation from Middleton High School, Helen worked in Madison at Ray-O-Vac, doing secretarial work. Later, she worked at Madison Opportunity Center and for Goodwill Industries. Helen was known for her kind and loving heart. She was born with a smile on her face and displayed it often during her life.

Survivors include her daughter Gina (Rick) Nelson, granddaughter Maddie; siblings: Robert (Marlys) Buechner; Janet (Milan) Warren; John (Diane) Buechner; Louise (Jim) Gregie; Virginia (Glen) Boehlke; James (Chris) Buechner; David (Betsy) Buechner; and Paul (Tami) Buechner. She was fond of her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend, Idore Sande.

Family and friends may visit at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 5959 St. Martin Circle, Cross Plains, on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. with Father Tait Schroeder presiding. Helen will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Helen's special guardians, caretakers, doctors, staff and others who treated her with dignity and compassion during her adult years. Special thanks to Badger Prairie Health Care Center. They are all angels.
