Hattie Overland

Fitchburg - Hattie E. Overland, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at UW Hospital. She was born March 15, 1928 to Fred and Elsa Scheidegger in Mt. Horeb. Hattie graduated from Mt. Horeb High School in 1946. Also, in 1946, Hattie was united in marriage to Norman Overland. She was a homemaker, raising four sons, which kept her busy. After moving to Fitchburg, where she currently lived, Hattie worked at Treasure Island for 18 years. She was an outgoing person and she was blessed with good health most of her life. Hattie liked her flowers, and feeding the birds and chipmunks.

Hattie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Norman; sons, Dennis, Harlan (Polly) and Roger; grandchildren, Tim Overland, Lisa (Mark) Teggatz and Heidi (Eliott) Sarnow; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Fred (Nancy) Scheidegger of Milton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Overland; and a great-grandson, Liam Teggatz.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.
