COTTAGE GROVE-Harvey P. Peterson, passed away peacefully at home on his 92nd birthday Saturday, August 12, 2017.
He was born in Wausau and served in the U.S. Army, graduated from UW-Stevens Point, and retired after many years as a chemist for the State of Wisconsin Agriculture Department. Harvey had many interests, among them exotic animals, birds, and especially reptiles. He was an exercise "guru" working his routine several times every day. He was unique, a fine man and a good friend to many.
Harvey is survived by nieces, Leslie Marshman and Sandra Milbauer and nephews, Scott Peterson and James Rausch. Harvey came into our lives when he came to Madison and rented a room in Fuller's Home in 1951. He considered the Norsetters, Fullers, Lohrs, and Troias his family who also survive him. He was dearly loved, an integral part of our family, an indelible part of many lives. He was predeceased by brother, Lyle and sister, Florene.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Cottage Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Your "girls" will sadly miss your wit, "Harvey-isms" and your daily presence in our lives. Our families are so grateful to have had you in our lives.
