Harvey Gausman

McFarland- Harvey T. Gausman, age 94, passed away peacefully into Eternal rest on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the family farm in the Town of Blooming Grove on March 1, 1920, the son of Henry and Elsa (Pope) Gausman. Harvey farmed all of his life in the Town of Dunn. He met the love of his life, Ruth Dyreson, at the McFarland free outdoor movies and they were married on January 12, 1945. Harvey was a lifetime member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed family celebrations and get togethers. Most of all, Harvey enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren especially giving them rides around the farm on his golf cart. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Ruth; daughter, Judy (Bob) Mueller; son, Bill (Roz) Gausman; seven grandchildren, Rob, Bill (Dawn), Josef (Jamie), Pete, Michael (Danelle) Mueller, Hans Gausman and Heather (Jon) Rattmann; 10 great grandchildren, Sydney, Samuel, Cameron, Elliot, Simon, James, Juliana, Anders, Claire and Henry; sisters-in-laws, brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews; extended relatives and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman and Alvin; and sister, Alta Ellestad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3702 County Road AB, McFarland, with Rev. Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare Inc.
