Harriet J Andersen

Harriet J. Andersen, age 85, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Nazareth House in Stoughton.   She was born on September 11, 1924, a daughter of Melvin and Sarah (Ellestad) Sperle.   On December 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Norman Andersen at McFarland Lutheran Church.   They farmed together in the McFarland area.   Harriett also taught school at Door Creek and Rinden one-room schools, and served as a substitute teacher for the McFarland School District for over 20 years.   She was a lifelong member of the McFarland Lutheran Church.   Harriet is survived by her children, Nancy (Rick Endres) Andersen and Nolan (Nicki) Andersen; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Allyssa), Josh (Karen), and Jon (Karen) Andersen; her great grandchildren, Molly, Sophie, Lucy, David, and Luke Andersen.   She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, Melvin and Sarah Sperle, sister, Dora Jerdee; and brother, Hans Sperle.   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Roselawn Mausoleum Chapel, 401 Femrite Dr. Monona, with the Rev. Jerry Pribbenow officiating.   The family will greet friends at the chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   Following services at the cemetery, a luncheon will be held at McFarland Lutheran Church 5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McFarland Grade School.
