Harolyn Huerta, age 89, of Madison, Wisconsin and Longmont, Colorado, died peacefully at Agrace Hospice in Madison, WI on October 22, 2026. She was born on February 2nd, 1937, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Lyland and Harold Breen.

She graduated from St. Alexius School of Nursing in Bismarck, N.D. in June 1958 and worked as an RN for 35 years. She married Joesph Huerta on August 31, 1967, and celebrated their 56th anniversary together before Joe’s passing three years ago. They lived in several states including Oregon, Virginia, California and Colorado. Harolyn enjoyed sewing and crafting of any type, as well as reading and listening to books on tape. Harolyn moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family. She already was a Packer fan!

Harolyn leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including neice Lynne Sears, who cared for Harolyn the last several years, brother -in- law George Strauss, cousins including Larry (Donna) Lenihan, her stepchildren, Catherine Knecht and Michael Huerta of Catasauqua, PA along with several step grand and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Joe, daughter Jolyn, brothers Ronald and Donald Breen, sisters: Jean Kaizer, Carol Yontz, and Rosalie Strauss, and her parents.

A mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, CO on November 9th at 10:00 am. The family will receive visitors at the church at 9:30 AM, prior to the mass. Harolyn will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter at Mountain View Cemetery following the church service.
