Harold I. Blotner

Harold Blotner, age 99, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He was born October 3, 1925, in Haverhill, MA to the late Samuel Blotner and Ruth Mysel. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in mechanical engineering. After graduating, he moved to Milwaukee, WI for work where he met his wife, Sue. They were married December 10, 1951. They moved to Madison where Hal joined his father-in-law at Dane County Vending.

Harold and Sue were very active in Temple Beth El with both taking active leadership roles within the synagogue. Together they enjoyed all University of Wisconsin sports, especially football and volleyball.

Harold is survived by his three sons; David (Sheri), Don (Deb), and Richard (Ann); grandchildren Joanna, Ben, Jarrod, Evan, Stephanie, and Charlie. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Sue; sister Frances and stepdad, Ben Ravich.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, July 15 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 1 Speedway Road.  Please meet at the main gate.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold’s name may be made to Capital Lakes Foundation ( https://www.yourclfoundation.org/ )
