Gus passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2026, in Alaska. Born in Madison on February 11, 1998, to Jayson and Laurie (Luetschwager) Anderson, joining sister Eva. He graduated from Memorial High School in 2016 and attended Madison College earning a technical degree. He had several jobs and assisted in caretaking of his dad before joining the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 2025. He continued to live in Fairbanks, Alaska where he shared a home with his wife. He married Martha Liliana Osorio Castro on April 23, 2022, in Madison.

Gus is survived by his wife, parents and sister. He is further survived by grandparents Gerhard and Sonja Luetschwager, Aunt Beth Luetschwager, Uncle Mark Luetschager (Lisa Kostecki), Aunt Elaine Anderson (Ray Brunner), Aunt Jennifer Anderson (Jeff - deceased), Cousins Christopher Anderson (Katie) and Katheryn Pophal (Christopher) and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and June Anderson, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Joy Rees and great aunts Patricia Mair (Tom) and Mary Bourne (David) as well as Uncle Bill Zitzner.

Gus was a wonderful, loving and loyal son, brother, husband, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be dearly missed.

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, a visitation will be held from 11AM-12PM, followed by a service at 12PM at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison WI, 53705. A luncheon will be held at Cress Funeral Home to follow the committal service with military honors at Forest Hill cemetery.
