Gregory Alan Warner

October 27, 1954 – April 28, 2025

Gregory “Gork” Alan Warner, of Madison, WI, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Madison to James M. and Patricia M. Warner (McGuine) Growing up the Warner family shared many fond memories at their old family cabin on Lake Yawkey in Hazelhurst, Wisconsin. The family cabin was dubbed “Frog Hollow” by Greg himself in homage to Frank Zappa.

He attended Our Lady Queen of Peace grade school and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1972. Greg was the longtime owner and operator of Alternative Shipping Fulfillment (ASF) LLC, a business he ran with dedication and pride since 2000. Let us not forget, he was also the creator of The Lambeau Rose.

Greg had a deep love for the local music scene. If he wasn’t at work, you might catch him supporting Madison’s music venues, at “The Fortress of Solitude” (his self-styled haven), or strolling the Dane County Farmers’ Market on a Saturday morning. He was one half of the duo Mit Menintux, a long standing member of coveted Green Bay Packers season tickets waitlist, and a devoted enthusiast of bass guitar, classic TV, eclectic art, mid-century modern decor, Lego creations, and—perhaps above all—his garden.

He is remembered for his dry wit, creative spirit, and the unique way he blended humor with heart. Friends and family will fondly recall his signature martinis and encyclopedic knowledge of retro television.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy. He is survived by his sons, Chad Warner of Jefferson; Wesley Warner of Madison; his daughter, Whitney Wege (Adam) of South Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Adelynn & Weston Wege (Whitney & Adam); his brother, Craig Warner of Madison; and his sister, Marcia Seeker (Kent) of Madison. Further survived by Joyce Warner (mother of his children), as well as many cousins and friends, including Patrick Schwarz (Bill) of Highland Park, IL; Vicky Heinz of Spring Green; Gail Geib of Madison; and Dan Geib (Melissa) of North Freedom.

Plans for a celebration of Greg’s life will be shared at a later date. His presence, humor, and passion will be deeply missed.

Memorials can be made to UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, Girls Rock Camp, and Madison Edgewood High School.
