Gregory Femrite

January 4, 1953 — April 14, 2016

MIDDLETON-On the afternoon of April 14, 2016 the Earth trembled as it released a man of insurmountable compassion from its grasp. Gregory Allen Femrite was born on January 4, 1953 in Stoughton, WI. He was brought into the world by his two loving parents, Nels Truman Femrite and Terese Joann Femrite.
He grew up in a time where rewards were only received through hard work and determination. And he wanted those rewards, but he never needed them. There was only one thing that he truly ever needed, and that was Love. But there was so much of it within him that he was never without it. He always had some to give whether it was to his wife Gretchen Ruth Femrite, to his four kids Lindsay, Leslie, Christian, and Johanna, to his friends and extended family, or to a hungry, homeless child in one of the many tropical locations he loved to visit. The day that he met Gretchen this love began to overflow. And as he grew to know her, he lost control of that flow. The current was so strong that he couldn't help but make her happy in every way that he possibly could. On May 20, 1989 he married her and began his Life in earnest. From that day on, he became the man that everyone came to know and love. There is no substitute for a man as selfless and loving as he was.
The thing he loved most, after his family, was his job. He worked as an engineer for over 40 years with several different dairies. But he always kept in touch with those he cared about. He had a network of connections and was an invaluable employee to his latest company, Schreiber Foods. He traveled the country on an almost bi-weekly basis and was the backbone for all of the projects that he was a part of.
He will be missed far and wide. And he is held in our hearts with the utmost respect and we will never forget the man he was. We will miss you, Greg; Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Friend. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, mother-in-law Cassandra Beckman, sister Joan Davenport, brother-in-law Paul Davenport, and niece Krissy. And he is survived by his wife, kids, extended family, and friends. You were our Pride and Joy, but now you're "Back in the Wild again. And we'll join you in the Big Hunt before too long." We love you, forever and always.
